Half of the income received from the Poultry of Malaya, Russell donated to build a library for one of Cleveland's schools. The script is considered by several film companies, and Antonio Banderas expressed a clear interest in participating in this project. Currently, the rights to the film belong to the Warner Brothers.

The new script for the future film is written by Michael Zeitzman Michael Seitzman. The director who will shoot the film is not yet appointed. It is assumed that Brad Pitt will play one of the roles. Although this is an artistic book, the plot of the novel is based on the real memories of people who have experienced that time.
