The Great Patriotic War affected almost every family in our country about the project about the project. Every year there are less and less witnesses of this tragic period. There is a threat of the loss of historical memory of the great feat of our Motherland, about people who have forced victory. What helps to save or wake up memory? Often these are family relics that are stored in every family: old photographs, letters, rewards, funeral notifications, personal belongings of those whom we remember with gratitude today, thanks to whom we do not know what war, hunger, devastation, hard labor in the factories and collective farms of the relic is a thing, sacredly stinging, it is transmitted from generation to ancestors, their heroic past.

What can family relics talk about?

How can they help us to reveal the life and character of our loved ones who died during the Great Patriotic War? Thanks to the site “Family Memory: From War to Victory”, each resident of the Novosibirsk region had the opportunity to look into his family archives and revive the pages of history with stories about expensive family members, objects related to the war, and return from the miserable of dear people.

The project participants were the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library, the Novosibirsk Regional Children's Library. Gorky, Novosibirsk Regional Special Library for Blind and Weaker, Municipal Libraries of Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk Region, Theater-Studio "Masquerad", Novosibirsk Musical Theater. The site’s materials are based on creative work - essays, drawings, audio - and video stories presented by children, students of secondary schools of the city and region of the children's campaign “From generation to generation” and residents, older age “History of the Family Relight”.

Each audio, video document, memory, photographs and comments on them is a touch of the history of the Great Patriotic War living in the memory of people. The materials of the action determined the structure of the site. The title page of the project website on which you are now containing materials collected in the areas of the Novosibirsk Region and the city of Novosibirsk during the “History of the Family Relight” campaign.

These are videos about family relics of photo albums, front -line letters, commemorative things, copies of photographs and interesting documents stored in families, audio files with the records of soloists of the Novosibirsk Musical Theater, reading the letters of the Siberians from the front. The participants wrote an essay about their relatives who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, the actors of the children's theater-studio voiced them, and the artist of the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library painted a set of postcards, each of which is dedicated to the hero of the children's essay. We published the electronic version of the postcards on a separate page of our site.
