The main part of Paliashvili's creative heritage is three of his operas, with which a new era began in the history of Georgian musical art: the epico-tragedy opera Abesal and Eteri, the lyrical-drama opera Daisi; The first opera, written in Georgia after the establishment of Soviet power and heroic-patriotic-“Latarav” to Per Paliashvili also belong to the “solemn cantata” for the October Revolution, “Georgian suite” on folk topics for the orchestra, a number of romance and choral works, and processing for a large mixed choir of Georgian liturgy.
The composer was collected and recorded near Georgian folk songs, some of which were published in the “Georgian folk songs” compiled by him, 40 songs, Paliashvili died on October 6, Paliashvili, the first and unsurpassed example of Georgian opera classics. In the poetic images of the ancient legend, Paliashvili sang an elevated and pure feeling of love, which is understood by the composer as a high all -conquering ethical power.
Despite the epic-great, restrained tone of the musical narrative, bringing it closer to the type of opera-oratoria, “Abesal” is permeated with enormous internal expression. The statement of V. Dopadze is fair that in Georgia, symphonism, as a method of thinking, has the work of Paliashvili and, first of all, the opera “Abesal and Eteri”, with its internal dynamism and determination of development, with the closest intonation-actic connections of all music.
The music of "Abesaloma" is firmly connected with the best realistic traditions of the world and especially Russian classical opera art. Among other things, this is evidenced by an extremely important dramatic role of the people, despite the fact that the opera is based on a lyrical, love theme. The images of the main characters of the opera are recreated with remarkable skill: an ardent and noble abesselom, a gloomy, severe murman who loves Eteri.
The choirs of Abesaloma and Eteri are among the classic samples of this genre in world music. In the plot, the lyrical-romantic and heroic-patriotic motifs are merged together. The whole spiritual drama of heroes develops on a colorful and lively background of folk songs and dancing, giving the music “Daisi” realistic imagery and vitality. The secret of the popularity of “Daisi” is in the exceptional melodic wealth, lyrical expressiveness and poetry of music.
The development of the musical and stage action “Daisi” is based on the principle of contrast: arias and duets, with great psychological veracity, drawing the lyrical experiences of the heroes, alternate with genre-and-epic scenes. Pankratova, L.
