Biography of Emilia Pokatar
Emilia was born - the future symbol of devotion to the idea of national unity - in the year in the city of Vilna. Her parents Frantiseki Xavery Pokatar and Anna Mol did not get along with each other, and as a child, Emilia, together with her mother, moves to one of the numerous estates of the hackers - to Liksna of the Dinaburg district of the Vitebsk province, this is the territory of Latvia.
There was an extensive library here, and Emilia spent more time behind the book than for games. Having matured, Emilia under the influence of Filomatov was carried away by Belarusian folklore. In the memoirs of Maximilian Marx, a native of Vitebsk, a unique description of the hobby of the young countess was preserved: she collected and sang Belarusian songs and even tried to compose “something like that”.
Emilia also loved to perform the dances of the Belarusian Luda, and especially the “Lipatuha” in her performance was inimitable. And also the “selfless and sweet countess” knew how to vote - in such a unique form, village people mourn their loved ones. Knight-vowel year. As soon as Emilia learns about the beginning of the liberation movement, she immediately goes around the closest relatives and acquaintances with an appeal to begin the preparation of the uprising in Lithuania and Belarus.
Together with the cousins, she even develops a plan for the seizure of the Dinburg fortress. Despite the fact that grandiose plans were not able to come true, in Emilia her environment recognizes the true leader. It is dedicated to knight-girls in all ancient rites. As witnesses write, with the help of a like -minded Lucian Weisenhof, in a quarter of an hour, hey manages to assemble a detachment of 60 horse -drawn and several hundred mowers.
We can say that Emilia becomes a “banner of liberation” in the territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The next day, a newly made detachment attacks Daugeli’s post office and breaks a small Russian detachment. Several days pass - and the rebels, having connected with the forces of General Shirman, are already taking the place of Ezeros. Emilia gained her fighting glory not only with one courage, but by military skills: she was a wonderful rider, a good shooter and a fencur.
The combination of these combat talents with her courage, honesty, kindness and, what to hide, an attractive appearance - and became the reason for respect and love for her as military and ordinary people. Therefore, in the army, no one even in his thoughts arose to allow an absurd joke in her direction, even to sin in a polite manage, ”relying on the memoirs of Ignat Dameika, military comrade Nuader, comments on the attitude to Patriota Yarosh Malishevsky.
It is no coincidence that her example was inspiring for other girls: Maria Romanovich, Antonina Tomashevskaya, adjutant Nuater - Maria Prushinskaya ... - In the Polish uprising, Countess Nuther was not the only woman. Nevertheless, it was her name that went around the whole of Europe as a symbol of courage and devotion to the Motherland. The woman-captain, when the troops in which the Nuther served, united with the regular Polish army of General Blopovsky, she was offered to become an honorary commander of the 1st company of the Linear Regiment of the rebel army with the assignment of the rank of captain.
An unprecedented case for a woman! However, balls are again replaced by battles. When Emilia finds out that the part, under the leadership of Khlovsky, in which she consists, plans to retreat to Prussia, she refuses to obey the order. She leaves the troops and goes to Warsaw, where she expects to join the units that still continue the struggle. But her intentions were not destined to be realized.
During a tiring campaign, the captain gets sick. Hunger, cold, military life as a whole affected the health of the girl. Friends leave Emilia in a roadside peasant house. Later, she, the patient, will be transferred to the estate of the poor gentry of the Klomovichi, where, under the “legend” of a new teacher for children, she will live the rest of her days.
It is believed that the last straw in the struggle of her spirit with the disease was the news of the capture of the tsar’s troops of Warsaw and the defeat of the uprising. Having learned about her story, Adam Mitskevich will write a poem that will glorify the gentry from Vilna throughout Europe. And it will be called the "Death of the Colonel." The legacy today on the territory of Belarus from the real estate of the Nagrators preserved the estate in the OPSU.
A fan of dancers in the village of Akhremovtsy of the Braslavsky district used to be well preserved. Previously, the village was called Byalmont. The estate itself, unfortunately, did not survive, but in a relatively good condition there is a park. Here, perhaps, is the whole trace of Emilia a mudster on Belarusian land.
Neither the monument nor the memorable sign in Belarus, unlike other countries, has not yet been established in her honor.
