Nikolai Nikitovich received vocational education at the Guryevsky oil technical school. This college in the years was distinguished by high professionalism of teachers, many of whom were exiled settlers. Nikolai Nikitovich always recalls his teachers with great respect and pride in his alma mater. In VNIIGOOPHISIC, Nikolai Nikitovich managed to create a strong creative team with which in recent years he maintained the closest contacts. The new stage in the biography of Nikolai Nikitovich began with the move to Siberia. Here, together with A. Trofimuk and E. Fotiadi, he was one of the organizers of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, in which he worked as the head of the laboratory and department, deputy director.

On his initiative and with direct participation, such enterprises of the “implementation belts” as the Siberian OKB and the Siberian geophysical expedition were created here, which later grew into the production association “Sibneftheophysics”. Over the three and a half decades of the creative activity of Nikolai Nikitovich in Novosibirsk, collectives of researchers with a wide range of interests from geoacoustic studies of the subtle structure of geological objects before studying the deep zones of the lithosphere have developed.

Together, they make up and proudly carry the title of "School of Puzyrev." Many fruitful ideas, without which the use of seismic exploration is now unthinkable, developed in the works of Nikolai Nikitovich. His scientific creativity covers all the main problems of the theory, methodology and interpretation of seismic research. Having headed and united the efforts of a number of scientific and production groups in one of the most promising areas of seismic intelligence - joint use of elastic waves of various types of polarization, N.

Puzyrev created a new modification of this method - multiple seismic exploration, which allows fundamentally increasing the efficiency of exploration of minerals, primarily oil and gas, go to direct direct identifying their deposits. Puzyrev, together with his students, solved a very urgent task of scientific substantiation and development of the methodology of regional seismic research of the earth's crust and the upper mantles in hard -to -reach Siberian regions, where such studies were not previously conducted.
