Roman Smirnov Biography
Then, during her performances in St. Petersburg, Tatyana introduced me to her ex -husband, St. Petersburg director Roman Smirnov. We sat in a Ukrainian restaurant with a pleasant company, and Roman near Borshchik told us an amazing story about how the Buddhists changed his bad fate to him. Then it turned out that the pretty, human performance “Pa-de-de” based on the play by Tatyana Moskvina, to which so many spectators came that they did not fit into the hall, also put Roman Smirnov.
Then different people talked about the wonderful book “People, Lions, Eagles and partridges”, published in the publishing house “Limbus Press”, which was also written by Roman Smirnov. I wanted to learn more about this versatile person. I live everywhere for 5 years. I studied for a director in Nizhny Novgorod. Born in Murmansk. Dad and mom were associated with the sea. It turned out by chance that I lived in Moscow in two stops from the place of work.
I liked it. I am a very lazy person, I walk everywhere. I don't know what the metro is. Now I live in a house on Nevsky Prospekt, I go through the yards to work. I even wanted to write a book where all routes in St. Petersburg are measured by beer banks. I know in which basement you can take a jar, after how many minutes it will end, and where you can buy the next. And the rest of the routes- to the Comedy Theater, to the Komissarzhevsky Theater- all of them are much shorter.
They will not let them work at home. I write everything on the go. Only rain and blizzard interfere. I write my ideas in memory of the phone book, and the expanded phrases are on the recorder. Journalism, theater. I was a stringer. The book in the "Limbus Press" was published. But I have stories. These are pages, in the publishing house they asked all the stories to connect with a common plot.
This second book of mine will be called "Silk demon." This is a phrase from Tatyana Shcherbina’s poem about me, and this image explains a lot from what is spelled out in my book. At that time, the death of Bashlachev and the poetess Shcherbin were somehow connected, and I said that if I meet her, I would kill her. They gave it to her. Then we found ourselves in the same St.
Petersburg apartment, I was forced to sing in front of her, an unfamiliar Moscow poetess. Then it suddenly rose that I was the same person who wanted to kill her, but it was too late to kill her, there was already love. Then there were big tour of the country.
I drove to Moscow without things with a guitar behind my back- drove for 1 day. And stayed for 7 years. You made a documentary movie. He worked on Western agencies, shot when the miners of Prokopyevsk were fast. Since then, I have been in almost all hot spots, in Azerbaijan, Armenia, in Lithuania, Sukhumi and Terrible. But then I was tired of shooting reports, I wanted something detailed, shoot about people.
I shot a film about post-war Armenia, the name of the film- “Let's not forget”, about one Armenian family, which lives high in the mountains. And the pasture is even higher. I lived there for a month. Of the signs of civilization, only a transistor receiver, there is no electricity, everything else is also. And at night, when several hours of free time, they listen to the transistor. And so they live absolutely as many centuries ago.
The main character is similar to something to Mikhail from the “brothers and sisters” Abramov is such a bright guy, only Armenian. And he drags a family behind him, old parents. Potatoes are grown in stones, sheep grazes. He speaks poorly in Russian, served in the Soviet still army, where he was very bad, and returned to his native village to the crevice of the rocks. Near the house, the tutovitsa and pear grow, the sun happens for two hours a day.
They are forced to live like that, they feel comfortable there. He has a wife, a child, they are whole people. Fortress upstairs, Khachkara stones with which they pray. These people were surprised at my question- the acting church? We, if there was a warehouse in the church under Khrushchev, it should be consecrated again. There was no such question for them. There is a church, which means acting.
There was an oldest university, a temple, but now no one can reach there, no one can survive in these places. And in the house of the movie there was a premiere, and then no one went to feature films there, and Misha Trofimenkov then gathered a large audience for my film. The film began to ride different festivals. But we did not need a documentary movie as before, and now.
Now everyone is engaged in projects ... -We about Buddhists ... -What, we went to Siberia with the Belgian group, made the film "Buddha in Siberia" about the Lama Danzan Lama. He was drilling, graduated from our university, was a Komsomol leader, then left for Siberia during perestroika, accepted monasticism, talked with a lama, created his own center for social Buddhism in Ulan-Ude.
Locals treated him like a saint, I saw real things when he helped people. He was considered a rebirth of the breed, which built the Buddhist datsan in St. Petersburg and who was a teacher of the thirteenth Dalai Lama, met with Nikolai Second. I recently found out that my hero died in a disaster. But it was clear that this is a very strong personality. He also made a rite above me.
I only now realized that everything that happened in my fate after, then this is thanks to him.I had a life crisis, I did nothing for three years, I had neither money nor work, everything rolled somewhere in a black hole. He made a rite “Horse-Veeter”, “Himari” over me. They have such magic stupas in the form of a pyramid. Each person has rag icons, writes his name on them, students make some rituals, and Lama calculates what position your sign is.
And on a certain side of the world, my tank is hung, and during the year different winds are directed in the right direction. I doubted, I am Orthodox. But Danzan said to me: “When you are sick, you buy medicines from Chinese herbs. Put a candle in the church! I do not excommunicate you from your Orthodoxy! And after this trip, my fate changed- the theater returned again, the book from afar, everything spun.
Then I studied with Tovstonogov for 5 years at the directing, I assisted Dodin. After 15 years, I returned to my native theater- there I was informed of the joyful news that they found the notes of Kurokhin, which were considered lost. With Tanya Shcherbina, we were in Berlin, went down in the subway, and in the back we knocked behind the glass. We look- Kuryokhin!
I showed him a finger, he understood me, we went out at the next stop, he caught up with us. We spent several wonderful days. It was also in New York and in St. Petersburg. We did not say a word, and we met everywhere. On 5 Avenue, on Litein ... in Moscow I was, he called the door, without telephone negotiations, he entered, all hung with bottles of champagne, sat down at the piano. Most often I met Seryozha with the Bukinist on Litein near Nevsky.
I didn’t have this with anyone ... -This is mysticism! And what other performances did you put? But now there is a leadership that only loves to put himself, and I am bored. But there they changed the scene, the scenery is not suitable now. I think of my most important performance “Capricha”. I wrote the script myself. Music Kureokhin. This is a parable without words, a dance-musical story, war, love, loneliness- all topics that are in parables.
Natasha Pivovarova and Sasha Lushin played. I remember this performance with sadness ... In the Maly Theater, my performance is now being prepared on the songs of Lesha Korotnko.
