Teresa Avilian biography
Georgio Papazoli. A fragment of the mosaic N. Each great spirit carries out this path of truth in its own way, in accordance with its unique spiritual talent. In her youth, Teresa loved both heaven and earth, not understanding well how to reconcile both. Teresa was with people, but stayed with God. This double state gave rise to an extraordinary effect. The divine extended to the earthly and penetrated into all affairs.
On love, the golden grain everything that is given with love with love will return to the fate of the story. The fiery treasure of the omnipotent and generous right hand is multiplied1. Teresa created spiritual communities, wrote letters and theological works, but the main, inner thing was prayer. If we admit, and this recognition is natural according to the laws of the higher world, then prayer is an action or action, the strength and significance of which can be realized only from above.
From below, from the ground, this can only be partially guessed. As a dry tree blossomed with a flying soul of Teresa blossomed, human souls have bloomed and bear fruit, which were shrunken in their worldly affairs, contacting the highest world through the wire of the Great Soul. If the prayer, in its innermost meaning, is a connection with the highest and exceeding, then the proximity of this link cannot but attach to the highest source and located near it.
Teresa created monasteries with a magnet of communication with God, being essentially in unceasing prayer. And around this unearthly Magnet, according to the law of conformity, the soul -consonent of the angelic harmony of the soul began to group. The country, suffocating in the ticks of the Iron Terror of the Inquisition, which did not endure the slightest deviation from its most severe norms and canons, who was afraid of these deviations is much larger than the devil, with whom she allegedly fought, but to whom she served; a church in which there was no Christ and which did not know him; And at the same time, the people, essentially religious, but did not know the way to God, and suddenly received a life -giving sip of air, whom he was looking for, not knowing it himself.
Sixteen monasteries and frequent travel of Teresa around the country, leaving bright tracks along, revived and aroused the stalled sprouts of souls. Was this the main miracle of those miracles that she performed in many? Teresa said: “Who makes stubborn efforts to ascend to the top of perfection, he never rises to this peak alone, but always leads, like a valiant leader, countless army, I clearly felt that he was on the right side of me and sees what I was doing, and I was never stronger than death and stronger than life3.
Teresa was seeing God in everything. Teresa was a combination of constant spiritual unity with Christ and very active earthly activity, which put her duty to her in relation to her neighbors and the circumstances of her personal life. This amazing combination solved the problem of being in God and serving people at the same time. Living ethics indicates the same path.
She says: “Not leaving life, but its implementation is commanded” 4. And Buddha, referring to those who preferred in search of spiritual achievements to live in solitude, said: “A lonely life in the forest is useful for her who follows her, but it contributes little to the good of people” 5. At the same time being in constant prayer and in the service of people, Teresa actively worked on the purification of religion.
She saw that the Church and its ministers were remote from Christ and His commandments and went along the “light path” leading to death; And she, like the Assisian Francis, completely indulged in the “cramped path”, leading to the eternal life, so that in this extreme way to renounce all the earthly, at least partially, to make Christians think without Christ, look at themselves and at the covenants of the one to whom they served in words, but in fact did not follow.
Teresa began with several monks close to her by the nuns to create the monastery of complete poverty and spiritual happiness, where genuine poverty would reign and which, according to her, would be a “corner of paradise”. Thus, she wanted to show that, as living ethics says, "happiness is in the spirit." Similar monitors in which people would have been in God themselves and carried this unearthly light to people with their sermons and their example, built by St.
Francis at one time, and in his reform, Teresa continued his path.
All her great work of the reform of the monasteries was built on two grounds - on love and joy. It is not enough to establish the monastery, it is necessary that it lives. In the dream of Her management, Teresa laid a simple truth: "Everything is nothing without love." Love was the basis of its activity. The second basis of her monastery was joy. Living ethics on this subject says: “Dow its enemy is the enemy of every improvement” 6.
Dwear is death, like a broken wallet! The most precious is poured out in despondency, and we can call the death of death ”7, while“ joy is the health of the spirit ”8. As a man, Teresa was “balanced, charming, kind, capable of encouraging others, patient and soft even when she suffered brutally. Around her, a circle of friends, fascinated by her courageous softness and soft severity, formed.
”The appearance of Teresa was beautiful in combining the best human qualities. She radiated the light of heaven, and darkness retreated, and the shining flowers of the spirit bloomed. And we, thinking and speaking of her, also have happiness, like her contemporaries, in contact with this aboveground light. Thinking about someone-we are invisibly acquainted.
The joy of such blessed meetings is great. The representative of the ancient family left the aristocratic environment to devote herself to serving God. The founder of the monastery monastery in the image of the primary Christian communities. The only woman equated to the teachers of the church, doctor of theology, the author of works on the ways of spiritual self -improvement.
