The cry of Ginzberg
Bibliography Biography American poet Allen Ginzberg, along with colleagues in literary craft Jack Keruak and William Burroughs, is considered the founder of biting. His works are distinguished by anarchist moods, freedom of thought, "sexual liberalism." His father Luis Ginzberg, a Jew, taught philosophy and wrote poetry, and his mother Naomi Livergant worked as a school teacher.
Two children were brought up in the family - Irwin and his elder brother Eugene G. Mother of the boys suffered from a mental disorder, which manifested itself in the form of paranoid delirium. So, Naomi claimed that listening devices were installed in the house. Probably, the fear of political persecution developed against the backdrop of frequent meetings with activists of the “Communist Party” of the United States.
Starting from the age of 7, Irwin went to them with his mother. Later, his memories were embodied in the poem "America" once Naomi tried to take his own life, and she was placed in a psychiatric hospital. In the year, Louis found new love in the person of the saleswoman of books Edith Cohen, with whom he lived for 26 years, until his death. The experience of communicating with an unstable mother became a source of inspiration for Ginzberg in writing two main works: “Crime” and “Caddish” in the year Ginzberg graduated from the History high school and entered the Columbia University at the Faculty of Law.
In the first year, Allen met with a graduate student, future writer Lucien Carr, who introduced him to Keruak and Burrose. Young people became close because each of them was worried about the future of American youth. Creativity is likely that Allen Ginzberg inherited an unstable psyche from his mother, which led to a strange but key episode in the poet’s biography. Once, reading aloud the poems of William Blake in his own apartment, the young man heard a voice.
At first, Ginzberg claimed that God spoke to him, then - that it was Blake himself. The auditory hallucination accompanied the poet for several days. Ginzberg accepted her for the instruction to become the voice of the new generation and began to compose the poem “Crush” - his best work. The writing of the drug addiction of Ginzberg helped to write a psychedelic, but great, but great for the bit of the book-with the help of prohibited substances, the poet tried to return Blake's voice.
In the year, an asocial lifestyle led to an arrest for theft of a car. The prison term turned out for Ginzberg forced treatment in a psychiatric clinic, where he met Charles Solomon - a man who is dedicated to the “cry”. In the First, Ginzberg turns to drug addicts, prostitutes, homosexuals and mentally abnormal. These people, who were considered the scum of society, formed a bit in the X and X years, strove for a free society.
Ginzberg calls them saints, describes their sexual and narcotic experience in detail, which will later become the reason for the ban on the poem. The 2nd part becomes a key of the Moloch-a deity who sacrificed children as a sacrifice. In the “crustle”, Moloch is a Society of Cold War, which is sacrificed by Ginzberg’s battering. The poet criticizes the Americans for their thirst for money and violence, at the same time preaching freedom of speech, thoughts and love of beatniks.
The final part is the anthem of Karl Solomon, whose "the soul is innocent and immortal, and it should not die obscene in the psychiatric hospital of an enhanced regime." In verses, Ginzberg tells a story about his friend, who suffered from clinical depression and wanted to commit suicide, but not in the usual way. Once, Solomon came to a psychiatric clinic and asked him to make a lobotomy - a fate that befell Ginzberg's mother.
The orderlies refused, offering dozens of types of therapy for the treatment with an electric shock to conclusion with a "silent" room. That day was reflected in the work of Jack Kerouac "Tramp Dharma." According to the artistic fiction, the audience accompanied the readings of the drunk Ginzberg with encouraging cries, and released from the stage under loud applause.
6 months after these events, Allen left the arrogant quote in the diary - “I am the greatest American poet,” and later supplemented “Let Jack Keroaca be the greatest.” In the year, six months after the publication of the “crush”, a party from copies was removed from the printing house in London. At the same time, a man who sold the poem to a police officer, and the director of the City Lights, Lawrence Ferlingetti, was arrested in San Francisco.
They were judged for aiding the spread of a “obscene” poem. James Franco, as Allen Ginzberg, a frame from the movie "Crushing" a lawsuit that restored the greatest book of biting in the ranks of literary works, formed the role of Allen Ginzberg by the role of Allen Franco. Immediately after the successful outcome of the trial, Ginzberg moved to Paris. In this productive period, Ginzberg began to write the epic poem “Gaddish”, Corso composed the “Bomb” and “Marriage”, Burrose connected the “Naked Breakfast” from the previously written passages. The main inspiration of Ginzberg has always been the concept of “spontaneous prose” by Jack Kerouac, which claimed that literature should proceed from the heart, without any conscious restrictions.
The poems of an American are a rafting of modernism, romanticism, jazz tunes and Buddhism. The last feature is especially observed in the collections "Indian Diaries" and "Chinese Drawing", written under the impression of a trip to India in years. The last work of the Ginzberg bibliography, published during his lifetime, was the poem "Iron Horse", which describes the behavior of people on the train.
Allen's personal life Ginzberg realized his unconventional sexual orientation in his youth. The first love interest was Gregori Corso-a poet and an artist, one of the key representatives of the biting. Corso, who was in prison for robbery for 3 years, understood homosexuality, but he himself was “natural”, so the relations between young people did not work out. Corso and Ginzberg remained friends for many years.
On the first joint evening, men swore to each other in eternal love, which, however, did not imply fidelity - both often changed partners. Orlovsky did not hesitate to spend time with the women whom Ginzberg "married" to him. Despite “sexual freedom”, the poets lived together for 43 years, until Allen’s death in metro in the film “Kill your loved ones” even demonstrates the kiss of poets performed by Daniel Radcliffe and Dean Dehan.
In life, the relations of men did not go so far: Carr was skeptical of a same -sex connection after he was cut by the annoying fan of David Kammerer in the year. There were women in Ginzberg’s personal life. Even before he met Orlovsky, he met with Eliz Cohen, a poetess-bonnet. Thanks to her, Ginzberg met with writer Carl Solomon. Death in the year of Ginzberg was treated for tropical illness.
It is assumed that the doctor used the non -sterilized needle, and the poet was infected with hepatitis. His immunity has been weakened forever. The state of health was aggravated by smoking and drug addiction. Allen repeatedly tried to quit additives, but stress forced to take up a cigarette and prohibited substances again. In the 10ths, Ginzberg suffered two minor strokes that led to Bella paralysis - in the later photos it can be seen that on one side of the man’s face the muscle “sagged”, atrophied.
Allen Ginzberg in recent years in the year Allen Ginzberg for the next time and the last time returned from the hospital, where he was unsuccessfully treated with heart failure in the year, in recent years. For days the poet called friends, saying goodbye. Some telephone conversations, including actor Johnny Depp, were sad and interrupted by tears, with other comrades, Ginzberg joked olderly.
Ginzberg died on April 5, surrounded by family and friends. The cause of death is the liver cancer, which was revealed from hepatitis. The body was cremated, and the remains were divided into equal parts. A third of the ash was buried on a family site in Newark, between the graves of the father and their mother. The second part of the ash was supposed to lie in the ground next to Peter Orlovsky after his death, which happened in the year.
The remaining third is buried in India. Quotes “I think, even after time, people will remember many, many lines of Bob Dylan, some lines of John Lennon. But almost all academic poetry will be forgotten. ”
